U8’s:

‘Go Games’

We travelled to Emyvale last Saturday for U-8 Go Games. We had our biggest panel of the year with 11 players attending from the Scotshouse, Connons and Drum areas of the parish. We started off playing against a strong Cremartin team, but we soon found our rhythm and put in some great performances against Killeevan, Emyvale and Eire Og. The Currin panel on the day were Killian Kierans, Conor Murphy, Aaron Smith, Caolan Connolly Smith, Nathan Gavan, Michael Connolly, Zach Rooney, Dearbhla Burns & Sinead Burns, Kevin Duffy and Darrach McGuigan. Well done in particular to Michael Connolly from Connons who made his debut after training all year. A big thanks to the parents who travelled to bring the team.

We are due to travel to Tyholland on Saturday next for U-8 Go Games. As usual travel arrangements will be confirmed by text.

U 10’s:

Training details will confirmed later in the week.

U-16’s:

The Under 16 amalgamated team, Patrick Emmetts, take on Clones in the Championship Final this weekend, scheduled for 12 noon on Saturday in Smithborough. The Currin and Aghabog lads have played some great football this year and now face a stern test against an equally strong Clones outfit in this season’s finale. Come out and support the team, they deserve it. (Confirm exact details prior to travel as throw in time may change after print deadline).

The league semi-final against Castleblayney will take place on Thursday 18th September in Scotshouse. Throw in time is currently 6pm, extra time if required, hence the early start. Again, all support welcome.

Hugh Connolly, Glasgow, Scotland, (formerly of Annies, Scotshouse.) R.I.P.

It was with sincere sadness that we learned of the death of Hugh Connolly, Glasgow who formerly resided in the family home in the Annies, Scotshouse. Like so many others of his generation, Hugh had to emmigrate for employment and with other family members moved to Glasgow in Scotland. The Connolly family have always had a great association with the Currin club and Scotshouse. Currin G.F.C. extend our sympathy to all Hugh’s family and friends, especially to his brother Willie who still resides in the Annies and is a valued Currin club member and match official.
