Our Senior Hurlers lost out in the championship final to Castleblaney last Sunday in Aughnamullen.

Both teams traded scores for most of the first half with Inniskeen’s coming from Donal Meegan, Martin Murphy and Ronan Meegan.

However Blaney scored a goal just before the break to send both teams in with on a score line of 1-06 to 0-06.

Castleblaney came out fighting in the 3^rd Qtr and contributed with seven unanswered points until a Ronan Meegan point in the 45^th stemmed the tide slightly.

We held on in there with points from Ronan Meegan however we just could not bridge the gap in the end as the final score finished Castleblaney 1-13 to Inniskeen 0-09.

It was an extremely exciting night in Croke Park last Saturday when the Monaghan Seniors overcame a stubborn Kildare outfit after extra time.

The win sets up an All Ireland Qtr final encounter with defending champions Dublin this Saturday eve. It’s a short turn around however the Lads will be ready for the Dubs.
