Jackpot for Sunday, June 8 is €1,000 and Anne and Adrian Trappe are on duty. The Lotto plays an essential part in the running of the club and we ask for everyone’s continued support. Please note that tickets can be brought down to the clubhouse from 7.45pm each Sunday.

Seniors: Our seniors fell to a 2-10 to 1-12 defeat at home to Castleblayney last Saturday evening. Points by Conor Galligan, Fearghal McMahon and Liam Hahessy got us off to a decent start and Dónal Hahessy added a brace from frees, but Blayney replied with 1-3 on the trot, until Dean Fanning punched to the net to bring us within a point at half-time: 1-5 to 1-6. We started the second half brightly, with points by Evan Doherty, Dónal (two) and Nicholas Scott, but Blayney hit back with a goal against the run of play. Fearghal converted a couple of frees, but Blayney edged ahead again inside the final quarter and although Nicholas Treanor closed the gap to the minimum, we couldn’t find an equaliser.

Team and scorers: Ashley White; Aodhán Óg McAnespie, David Hughes, Mustafa Gamal; Niall Hahessy, Conor Galligan (Capt., 0-1), Niall Treanor; Nicholas Scott (0-1), Gary White; Dónal Hahessy (0-4f), Nicholas Treanor (0-1), Dean Fanning (1-0); Liam Hahessy (0-1), Evan Doherty (0-1), Fearghal McMahon (0-3f).

Reserves: Our McKeown Cup team had a 3-16 to 2-9 win at home to Truagh in the league last Wednesday evening. Niall Greenan, John Mulligan, Dessie McGarry and Conor McCaughey were on target early on and although we conceded a goal, points by James McKenna and Niall, either side of an Éimhín Morahan goal, gave us a 1-6 to 1-4 half-time lead. Conor Forde rattled in a cracking goal after the restart and Dessie added 1-1 in quick succession, before Conor McCaughey, James, Dessie, Niall and Conor Forde added points. Truagh got a goal back, but points by Niall and Dessie sealed a good win.

Team and scorers: Ronan McGann; Niall Treanor, Marc Brennan, Aidan Connell; Conor Burns, Dónal McCarthy, Conor Forde (1-1); Lorcan McAdam, James McKenna (0-2); John Mulligan (0-1), Niall Greenan (0-5, 4f), Ahmed Gamal; Dessie McGarry (1-4, 0-2f), Conor McCaughey (0-2, 1 ’45), Éimhín Morahan (1-1).

Subs: Colm Flynn for Brennan (40 mins), Paul Byrne for Burns (46), Niall Brannigan for Mulligan (53).

The O’Duffy Cup team hosted Magheracloone last night (Wednesday).

U-14: Both our Under-14 football teams were involved in an entertaining double-header against Carrickmacross in glorious conditions at Gavan Duffy Park last Saturday. The Division One team had an excellent 5-14 to 5-10 win. Our lads led by 1-4 to 1-2 at the end of the first quarter, thanks to a goal by Stephen Ward and points by Adam O’Neill (two), Conor McCrystal and Corey McArdle. Conor and Corey added 0-3 and 0-2 respectively by half-time, but Carrick hit a couple of goals to lead by 3-4 to 1-9 and they were still ahead (5-8 to 3-11) going into the final quarter, despite points by Conor and Annan Connor and a goal by Lochlainn Power. The Harps lads cut loose down the home straight, with 1-1 each by Lochlainn and Seán Conway (who was now operating in the forward line) and another point from Conor to secure victory. This was a strong team performance, with the likes of Andrew Lyden, Lorcan O’Rourke, Annan and Conor putting in superb effort.

Team and scorers: Erikas Dikmonas; Andrew Lyden, Seán Conway (1-1, 0-1f); Dylan Maguire, Annan Connor (0-2, 1f, 1 ’45), Oisín Fagan; Lochlainn Power (2-1), Conor McCrystal (1-5, 0-2 ‘45s); Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh, Adam O’Neill (0-2), Corey McArdle (0-3); Lorcan O’Rourke, Stephen Ward (1-0).

Subs used: Colin Peppard, Killian Conlon.

The Division Five team fell just short on a scoreline of 6-6 to 4-8. Both teams struggled to score in the early stages, but the Harps found their rhythm in the second quarter, with Terence McDonald, Killian Conlon, David Leanne, Luke Coyle and Ryan Leonard all on target. Jamie McCarron and Erikas Dikmonas found the net in the third quarter, but Carrick responded with a hat-trick of goals in quick succession and although Terence replied with a point, it wasn’t enough to reward what was a fine effort by our lads.

Team and scorers: Domantas Damanauskas; Joshua Clerkin, Conor McCarron, Luke Coyle (0-1), Oran Ó Caoláin; Justas Dambinskas, Terence McDonald (0-2); Shane McCabe, Ryan Leonard (0-1); Killian Conlon (1-1), Erikas Dikmonas (1-0),

Subs used: Jamie McCarron (1-0), David Leanne (1-1), Dylan Ballantine (0-1), Shea Treanor, Killian Treanor, Stephen McMahon.
