The Intermediate Football League returns this weekend as our Seniors face up against our neighbours Corduff at home on Sunday afternoon. The lads look to return to action in the best way possible with Championship season around the corner and no better way to be prepare for that than with a win on Sunday afternoon so come along on the day to get behind the team.
Reserves:
Our Reserve side were in Championship semi final action on Wednesday evening as they took on Eire Og away from home in the Crawley Cup semi final. See next week’s notes for the result.
Minors:
Our Minors and U16s continue their training on Friday and Tuesday evening at 7 o clock. With Championship season just around the corner full attendance is needed to prepare the very best as possible.
U14s:
The U14 team were in Championship semi final action on Tuesday evening as they took on Sean Mc Dermotts away from home, see next week’s notes for the result. On Thursday evening they are back in action as they face a tough encounter against neighbours Castleblayney at home. Throw in is at 7.30 in Donaghmoyne.
U12s:
On Saturday morning both our U12 squads were in league action at home in Donaghmoyne. The first game saw the B team face Oram, the lads put in a top display from start to finish and thankfully came away with the points as they made it two wins from two so far. The second game saw the A team take on neighbours Iniskeen in what proved to be a very tight encounter. Both teams really fought hard and had to earn anything they got. The lads just about got the edge needed late on and thankfully gained a narrow victory, another good win following their opening day victory over Carrickmacross during the week. Both sides return to action in the next coming days, on Saturday morning the A team face a tricky encounter at home to Monaghan Harps, throw in for that one is at 1.15. Then on Tuesday evening our B team take on Clontibret at home also, throw in is at 7.30 in Donaghmoyne. Come down on the day and show your support for our stars of the future.

Mouthguards:
Gum Shields have now become compulsory for both training and matches in the season ahead. It’s important all juvenile players and senior players have their mouthguard in place before entering the playing grounds. At Annual Congress in April 2012, a new rule was enacted that made it mandatory to use a mouthguard in all Gaelic football matches and training sessions from January 1st 2013 for all age grades up to and including minor. The rule will now come into effect at Under 21 and Adult level from January 1st 2014. Players will not be covered under the player injury scheme if they are not wearing a mouthguard.
Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps:
The Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps for the Donaghmoyne Club Crusade can be dropped into any of the 4 schools in the Parish, Mc Caugheys shop and also Lisdoonan Shop. Please Support.
