Seniors: Our seniors lost to Scotstown in the senior championship last Saturday in Clontibret, 0-12 to 1-14. Scotstown opened the scoring with 2 points in the opening 10 minutes only for us to equalise by the 15th minute with scores from Chrissy McKenna and Aidan Coyle. Scotstown retook the lead adding 3 further points by the 20th minute. Chrissy McKenna again registered a point in the 21st minute before Scotstown scored again a minute later to maintain their 3 point margin. Though denied a goal with a point blank save from the Scotstown keeper, we were consoled with 3 points in the 24th, 25th and 30th minute to level the match, our scores from Adam Treanor, Mark Counihan and Chrissy McAnanley. On the stroke of half time, Scotstown converted a free to leave the half time score Gaeil Triucha 0-6 Scotstown 0-7. We quickly levelled matters in the second half with a Chrissy McAnanley point in the 32nd minute before a long range Chrissy McKenna ground ball sent us ahead for the first time in the match by the 37th minute. It was a lead short-lived however as Scostown registered  7 of the next 8 points in the following 15 minutes to lead 0-9 to 0-14 with 8 minutes remaining. Our sole point in this period was a converted Adam Treanor free. We upped the pressure in the final minutes, reducing the margin to 2 points by the 59th minute with 3 points from Adam Treanor, 2 from free kicks. Hopes of a win were quashed however when Scostown scored a last minute goal to close the game 0-12 to 1-14. The loss now takes us into the backdoor side of the competition which is to resume in August. Our teams and scorers v Latton: Ian Treanor; Aidan Coyle, Niall McQuillan, John McCarron; Darren Todd, Rory Treanor, Eoghan Kelly; Pauric Treanor, Barry Cuddy, Chrissy McKenna (0-3, 2f), Neil McRory, Brendan Treanor; Mark Counihan (0-1), Adam Treanor (0-5, 3f), Chrissy McAnanley (0-2). Subs Used: Niall McMeel for Brendan Treanor (H-T), Sean McKenna for Mark Counihan (39mins), Paudie McKenna for Chrissy McAnanley (45mins) & Niall Rooney for Eoghan Kelly (60mins). We were due to play a SFL match on Wednesday last, 21st May, away to Monaghan Harps. Our following match is at home to Ballybay on Saturday 31st May at 7pm.

Reserves B: Our next game is away to Latton next Sunday 25th May at 12.30pm.

Reserves C: We play Currin in the quarter final of the reserve C championship on Friday 23rd May at 7.30pm in St. Mellans. We then play away to Monaghan Harps in the league next Wednesday, 28th May, at 8pm.

Minors: We resume league and championship action in July.

U-16: We recorded a good away win over Clontibret last Thursday, 1-18 to 2-14. We play at home to St. Pats this Thursday, 24th May, at 7.30pm.

U-14: We were due to play a home game against Aughnamullen last Tuesday evening. We follow this with an away game against Inniskeen on Saturday 31st May at 1.15pm.

U-12: Training for U-12 each Monday and Wednesday evening between 7-8pm.

U-10: Training each Thursday evening between 7-8pm. Gum shields are mandatory for all. Annual registration due for all U-10s. Fee €20 and will be collected at training. U-12 blitz in Cloghan this Saturday.

U-6 & 8s: Training each Thursday evening between 7-8pm. All welcome. U-8 blitz in Castleblayney this Saturday. Bus leaving St. Mellans at 9am.

Hurling:
Seniors-We were defeated by Inniskeen last Thursday in the DHL semi-final, 3-7 to 0-19. Our next match is in the senior league away to Carrickmacross on Thursday 29th May at 8pm.
