Seniors: Our senior footballers lost to Clontibret in the SFC by 1-13 to 2-7 last Sunday, despite a strong second-half comeback in Castleblayney. Despite Liam Hahessy kicking the opening point, we struggled badly in the first half and Clontibret scored an unanswered 1-6. Fearghal flicked to the net in the first minute of the second half and Dónal and Niall Hahessy added points, before Evan Doherty punched a high ball in for our second goal. Dónal and Nicholas Scott brought us level and although Clontibret retook the lead, Nicholas Treanor and Conor Galligan replied, only for Clontibret to hit the last three points.

Team and scorers: Ashley White; Aodhán Óg McAnespie, David Hughes, Kevin Loughran; Niall Hahessy (0-1), Conor Galligan (Capt., 0-1), Gareth Treanor; Peter Coyle, Gary White; Dónal Hahessy (0-2, 1f), Nicholas Treanor (0-1), Nicholas Scott (0-1); Liam Hahessy (0-1), Dean Fanning, Fearghal McMahon (1-0).

Reserves: In a very busy week for our reserve teams, we host Clones in the McKeown Cup championship this Friday at 7.30pm, before playing away to Clontibret in the RFL Division 1A on Sunday at 12.30pm and at home to Truagh in the RFL Division Three next Wednesday at 8pm. Please support!

U-16: Our Under-16 footballers got the better of Corduff in a high-scoring game at Gavan Duffy Park last Thursday. After taking an early lead, our lads fell behind midway through the first half, but goals by Remy McKenna and Ethan Murphy had them ahead by 4-8 to 2-7 at half-time. The Harps stayed ahead throughout the second half and although Corduff closed the gap in an exciting finish, it ended 6-13 to 5-13 in our favour. Donaghmoyne have conceded the game due to be played this Thursday.

Team: Dylan McAree; Ultan O’Rourke, Cathal Power, Thomas Croarkin; Niall Ward, Jamie Shields, Niall McManus; Ben Kearns-Flynn, Paul Peppard; Nathan O’Donoghue, Remy McKenna, Shane McMahon; Jack Deery, Ethan Murphy, Conor Duffy.

U-14: Our Under-14 Division One team got their first win of the league with a good performance at home to Emyvale last Friday. Conor McCrystal, Lorcan O’Rourke and Adam O’Neill were on target in the opening quarter to give the Harps a 0-4 to 0-3 lead and that trio all added to their tallies in the second quarter, while Lochlainn Power and Stephen Ward also chipped in with a point each. Emyvale turned the game with a couple of goals in the third quarter, but 1-1 by Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh and points by Conor and Stephen kept our lads in touch. The Harps gained the upper hand in the closing stages, with 1-3 by Conor and a point from Corey McArdle securing a 2-17 to 3-8 win.
