Donaghmoyne Notes

May 21st, 2014

Lotto:
Lotto results will be posted next week. Next week’s Jackpot is €9000, make sure you’re in it to have a chance to win it!
Seniors:
The Intermediate Football League resumed during last weekend as our Seniors took on Sean Mc Dermotts at home on Sunday morning. This was a tight encounter played in poor weather conditions making it difficult for both teams to play good football. Come full time there was very little between the sides as Seans ran out single point victors over the hosts. They looked to bounce back on Wednesday evening when they took on Rockorry away from home. See nexts weeks notes for the result.
Reserves:
On Sunday morning our Reserve squad return to action as they take on Rockorry at home. Throw in is at 12.30 in Donaghmoyne. Come out and support the lads on Sunday as they look to continue their good run in the campaign so far.
Minors:
Our Minors continue their training on Friday evening at 7 o clock. With Championship season just around the corner full attendance is needed to prepare the very best as possible.
U16s
Our U16s continue their league campaign at home against Monaghan Harps on Thursday evening. Throw in is at 7.30 in Donaghmoyne, come out Thursday evening as the lads look to get their season back on track.
U12s:
On Saturday morning both our U12 sides are in Spring League Final action as they take on Emyvale in Cloghan. The first game throws in at 12 o clock and the second game starts at 1. Come along on Saturday morning and get behind our Stars of the Future as they look to go into the competitive league competitions on the back of two good performances.
Mini Fontenoys:
Mini Fontenoys continue this Saturday morning from 11-12 in Donaghmoyne, weather permitting. All children from the ages of 5-10 years old are welcome. Parents are asked to get involved and help out and coach our future stars. Registation will also take place for 7-10 year olds this Saturday morning at 11. Regrestration is €5 per child.
Best of Luck:
The club would like to wish Mikey, Shane, David, Ronan, Stephen and all the Monaghan Minors the best of luck this Saturday evening as they take on Tyrone in the UMFC quarter final this Saturday evening in Newry at 4.45.
Recently Deceased:
The club would like to extend its sympathies to the Mc Donald family on the death of Catherine Finnegan nee Mc Donald, of Peaste Carrickmacross and Fort View Lisdoonan who died recently.
Lotto Sellers Wanted:
Any children in the parish who would be interested in taking up a lotto selling route would be more than welcome as we would like to cover more and as much of the parish as possible. Each child selling lottos will also receive a commission. Anyone interested can contact Brian on 0872915864.
Mouthguards:
Gum Shields have now become compulsory for both training and matches in the season ahead. It’s important all juvenile players and senior players have their mouthguard in place before entering the playing grounds. At Annual Congress in April 2012, a new rule was enacted that made it mandatory to use a mouthguard in all Gaelic football matches and training sessions from January 1st 2013 for all age grades up to and including minor. The rule will now come into effect at Under 21 and Adult level from January 1st 2014. Players will not be covered under the player injury scheme if they are not wearing a mouthguard.
Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps:
The Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps for the Donaghmoyne Club Crusade can be dropped into any of the 4 schools in the Parish, Mc Caugheys shop and also Lisdoonan Shop. Please Support.
