Senior Football

Currin experienced contrasting fortunes during the last week in the S.F.L. Division One. On Wednesday night we had a win over Latton in our first game at home in Scotshouse, but on Sunday we went down to Ballybay away. Despite being curtailed by injuries Currin began brightly against Latton and we led at half time on an 0-8 to 0-5 scoreline with Jack Mc Carron accounting for five points and Philip O Callaghan getting two and Enda Mc Caffrey finishing the half with a great long distance point. The second half began with Currin extending their lead to five after fifteen minutes. However Latton fought back and approaching full time they drew level but in a final attack Jack scored what turned out to be the winning point. Final score, 0-13 to 0-12. Team and scorers:- Fergal Connolly, Dara Brady, Conor Mac Caffrey, 0-1, Enda Mc Caffrey, 0-1, Paddy Mc Dermott, Ciaran Mc Caffrey, Cian North, Dick Clerkin, Francis O Callaghan, Niall Mc Entee,  Ciaran Kearns, Philip O Callaghan, 0-2, Garett Beatty,  Jack Mc Carron,0-9, Sean Brady.  Subs used, Dylan Greenan, Ronan King, Johnny O Connor.

On Sunday we travelled to Ballybay and playing against the rain and a strong wind we were immediately under pressure and with injuries our already depleted resources were tested to the full and we found ourselves well behind at half time. Ballybay ran out convincing winners on a scoreline of 2-17 to 0-3. Team and scorers:- Team and scorers:- Fergal Connolly, Dara Brady, Conor Mac Caffrey, Enda Mc Caffrey, Paddy Mc Dermott, Ciaran Mc Caffrey, Cian North, Dick Clerkin, Francis O Callaghan, Niall Mc Entee,  Ciaran Kearns, Philip O Callaghan, 0-1, Garett Beatty,  Jack Mc Carron,0-2, Sean Brady.  Subs used, Dylan Greenan, Ronan King, Johnny O Connor.
