Senior Football

Currin played Truagh away on Friday last in the S.F.L. Division One, and with a weakened side went down to a strong home team. Currin started brightly and were in the ascendancy for the first twenty minutes with Jack firing a typical goal to keep us in front along with points from Garret Beatty, Gerard O Callaghan, Dick Clerkin and Jack Mc Carron. However two goals before half time for the home side say them go in leading by 1-5 to 3-6. In the second half we struggled to make an impression and eventuially lost out on a scoreline of 4-11 to 1-8. We played Latton last night at home. On Sunday next ,  11th May,  we are away to Ballybay. Throw in is at 2.00pm. Our Championship game against Magheracloone has been fixed for Clontibret on Saturday 17th May.

 

Reserve League Div 3

We continued our good run with an excellent win over Monaghan Harps in Scotshouse last week. In an exciting game Currin got a great start with Garret Beatty scoring the only goal of the game. Currin were always in control and in the end Shane Brady finished  a great move by having his shot tipped over the crossbar in the final moments that saw us winning convincingly, 1-11 to 0-8. The only downside of this win was the injuries suffered by Dara Brady and Michael Quigley. Youth Affairs

U -16’s

Patrick Emmetts  played Killevan in Newbliss, last week.  In a great game we held on to record an excellent victory on a scoreline of 4-11 to 4-8.

Minors

Hard luck to our minors who went down to Castleblayney in a high scoring game last week. Hopefully they got back on track against Tyholland on Tuesday last.

U-12’s

The under 12’s are back in action away to the Harps on Saturday mortning at 12.00.

 

Dressing Rooms

Congratulations to the developement committee and our builder, Kieran , for the great job done to our dressing rooms which are now in use. Well done to all concerned.

 

Michael Quigley

Best wishes to Michael Quigley who sustained a serious knee injury in the game against the Harps last week. After being out for over a year and having made huge effort to get back after his previous injury this is a terrible blow to Michael. We wish him a speedy recovery.

 

Patrick Connolly

County teams Open Night

The open evening to meet the stars of our County teams takes place this Friday 9th May at 8.00 p.m. in Cloghan. Supporters young and old will have the opportunity to meet the members of the various County teams who will be present on the night. There will also be alot of ‘side shows’ on the night. You will get an opportunity to get your photo or autograph with your hero.
