Truagh Notes

April 17th, 2014

Seniors: We recorded a win in our first SFL game last Saturday defeating Doohamlet away, 2-10 to 1-9. In a low scoring first half, it was Doohamlet who set the pace with the first score of the match scoring a goal in the 9th minute to go ahead. It was a lead the hosts retained until the final passage of play in the first half when Chrissy McAnaley scored his first senior goal to equalise the game 1-3 each. We immediately added another goal at the start of the second half with a goal from Mark Counihan. Doohamlet responded, and drew the game level by the 41st minute at 1-8 to 2-5. However, four unanswered points over the next 10 minutes put us back in front before a point was traded in the last 5 minutes to leave the full time score, Doohamlet 1-9 Gaeil Triucha 2-10. Our team and scorers were: Ian Treanor; John McCarron, Niall Feely, Niall McQuillan; Aidan Coyle, Rory Treanor, Paudie McKenna (0-3, 1f); Niall McMeel, Neil McRory (0-1); Brendan Treanor, John Treanor, Chrissy McKenna (0-5, 1×45); Mark Counihan (1-0), Adam Treanor (0-1), Chrissy McAnanley (1-0).
