Seniors

Wednesday last saw the visit of Emyvale to Threemilehouse. This proved to be a battle of end to end action and a goal feast. Seans started well with a goal and point racked up in the early minutes. Emyvale come back with points from frees but a cracking move saw Nigel Lynch score the second goal and move Seans ahead. Emyvale kept the points ticking over and at half time the sides were level 2-4 each. Points from Danny Mc Nally, Patricks Kieran and Damien Larkin kept the team in touch after Emyvale scored their third goal midway through the second half. As the second half headed towards a finish intense pressure from Emyvale left it an anxious few minutes. A number of injuries in the final quarter meant the squad was tested and substitutes played their parted admirably and with the final score of 2-11 to 3-6 gave the Seans full points.

Minor Team

The minors played a tough away game in Latton last Tuesday week, the team certainly looked the part when they arrived on the field with their new training tops generously sponsored by Car Parts Distributors, Clones Road, Monaghan. Latton county minor players Stephen Mc Cabe & Tommy Lynch were in top form. It took switching Jamie Keenan & Enda Connolly onto these players to mark them effectively. In goals Ryan Connolly kept a clean sheet & certainly kept the Sean’s in the game. Rian Mc Entee caught some good high balls against a big Latton defence. Aaron Mc Nally & Ryan Hughes broke up a lot of Lattons attacks. Niall Kearns and Dara Bell combined well at midfield both appearing at times on either end of the pitch. Dylan Mc Nally and Niall Murphy were strong on the half forward line. Up front Aidan Ward scored 4 points and Adam O Driscoll scored 3 points along with a scorcher of a goal. Shane Kelly and Marty Mc Guirk came on as subs. Paddy Mc Phillips also came on and quickly scored a point. This team is displaying a great “never give up attitude”, they were 6 points down at one stage and came back to within 2 points of Latton, who won with a score of 15 points to 1-10 for the Seans

U-14’s

Our U-14 squad recored their first win with a high scoring game with Killany. Foundations for the victory were laid in the first quarter, when playing with the wind, they built up up a commanding lead. After this the result was not in doubt with the Seans being in control. Zack Perkins in goal gave excellent distribution. The full backs of James Murphy, Ryan Farrell, later replaced due to injury, with Daniel Reilly. The half backs of Kian O Leary, James Clerkin, and Cathal Mc Mahon were always on top of their game. At midfield Daragh Maguire and Patrick Mc Carron cleared their lines well and drove forward to link well with the forwards. Killian Murphy, Oisin Mc Kenna, David Keeley Marc Melvin and Fergal Clerkin proved too strong for the Killany defence and tormented them with terrific scores. The introduction of the subs, Sean Morgan, Josh Hagan, and Darren Keeley showed great depth in the squad. We wish a speedy recovery from injury to Zack Perkins and Daniel Keeley. Training continues Monday and Thursday at 7.30pm.
