Magheracloone Notes

Lotto Results. The numbers drawn in the Club Lotto on Monday, 21st April were 5, 10, 18 and 26. The jackpot was not won this week and the Lucky Dip winners were Tom Byrne, On-line Player, Ronan Freeman, Direct Debit Player, Nancy Dolan, Magheross and Mark Duffy, Magheracloone. The next draw will take place in the clubrooms on Monday 28th April and the Jackpot will be 2,300 euro.

Senior Competitions.  The Senior League continued on Wednesday evening last with a visit from Doohamlet. After another tight game Magheracloone came out on top to claim the points on a score of 0-14 to 0-13.

The Reserve game fixed for the week-end was postponed owing to the death of Chrissie Kieran and will be played at a later date. The team is out again this week-end when Monaghan Harps will provide the opposition in Corduff on Saturday at 7.00 p.m.

Minors. In the Minor league, Magheracloone had to give way to a strong Clontibret outfit last week and faced Truagh on this Tuesday in an away fixture. Next week’s minor fixture will be played in Corduff at 7.30 p.m. and the opposition will be provided by Emyvale.

Under-16.  Magheracloone travelled to Donaghmoyne last week in the Under-16 league and claimed the points on a score of 3-12 to 1-14. The team travel to Monaghan on this Thursday to face the Harps team in the next round. This game begins at 7.00 p.m.

Under-14 Championship. Carrickmacross proved to be the better outfit in the championship semi-final which was played on Tuesday evening in Carrickmacross. The result was in doubt for most of the game but the Carrickmacross team finished the stronger and so claimed a place in the Division One final.

Under-12 League. The Spring League continues this week-end with a home game versus Clontibret. The throw-in on Saturday is timed for 12.00 noon.

Under-10  Go Games. The first Under-10  Go Games of the season took place last Saturday with a large number of young people taking part. Gary reports that somebody may have taken home the club kit bag by mistake. He asks that you contact him if you have it in your possession.

The Under-10 Community Games competition started on this Wednesday evening in Killanny. This competition is open to all Under-10 players.

Meanwhile training continues each Thursday in Scoil Bhride from 7.00 to 8.00

Under 8 Training. Under 8 training continues on Wednesdays at 7 pm at Mullagherafferty National School. All Under- 8 players must be 6 years of age before 1st January 2014.

Brendan McCahey. Congratulations and best wishes to Brendan for the big final on Sunday. The support from Magheracloone and from all of Monaghan is much appreciated and Brendan appeals for your votes again this week-end.

Sympathy. The chairman and club members wish to extend sympathy to the Kieran family on the death of Chrissie Kieran, Derrynaglagh. Her son, James, is the Vice-Chairman of the Juvenile Committee and the Under-16 team manager.
