Donaghmoyne Notes

March 18th, 2014

Lotto:
Due to the bank holiday weekend this weeks lotto results will be posted in next weeks notes.
Seniors:
The Intermediate Football League kicks off this weekend for our Seniors. This Sunday we take on Clones at home at 2 o clock. A good start to the year is very important so come out Sunday and get behind the lads as they look to put down an early marker in the league.
Reserves:
On Sunday last the Reserves had their second match of the season as they took on Doohamlet at home in the league. This was a tight match throughout, Donaghmoyne could have been guilty of wasting lots of good chances which could have killed the game but thankfully they came out with the win with a margin of just two points. Their next game is on Sunday March 30th away to Oram.
Minors:
Minor and U16 training continues every Tuesday and Friday evening at 7 o clock. With the first league games coming up it is important there is full attendance at training.
U14s:
The U14s start off their league campaign this Saturday at home as they take on Killany at 12 o clock. Once again it’s important that any team starts their year well so come out Saturday morning to support our stars for the future.
U12s:
On Saturday morning last both our U12 sides started off their Spring league competitions at home to Latton. Being the first game of the year both teams were naturally a bit rusty but eventually got their foothold in the games and came out victors in both, lots of work needed but a good start to the season. Training continues this Saturday morning at 10:45.
Lotto Sellers Wanted:
Any children in the parish who would be interested in taking up a lotto selling route would be more than welcome as we would like to cover more and as much of the parish as possible. Each child selling lottos will also receive a commission. Anyone interested can contact Brian on 0872915864.
Mouthguards:
Gum Shields have now become compulsory for both training and matches in the season ahead. It’s important all juvenile players and senior players have their mouthguard in place before entering the playing grounds. At Annual Congress in April 2012, a new rule was enacted that made it mandatory to use a mouthguard in all Gaelic football matches and training sessions from January 1st 2013 for all age grades up to and including minor. The rule will now come into effect at Under 21 and Adult level from January 1st 2014. Players will not be covered under the player injury scheme if they are not wearing a mouthguard.
Recently Deceased:
The club would like to extend its sympathies to the families and friends of Kathleen Gartland Lisdoonan, Martin Mc Gahon CMX and Iniskeen, Peter Shannon Drumhowan and Jane Mc Connon Drumherriff and CMX who all died recently.
Coaching Courses:
There are a number of Foundation and Level One Coaching Courses being run by Monaghan Coaching and Development in the next few weeks for anyone interested. For more information see the Monaghan GAA website or contact Colin Finnegan on 0879090477.
Club Membership:
Club Membership for the following year is now due. The fee is €20 and can be given to any club officer.
Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps:
The Lucozade Sport Bottle Caps for the Donaghmoyne Club Crusade can be dropped into any of the 4 schools in the Parish, Mc Caugheys shop and also Lisdoonan Shop. Please Support.
