Scor Sinsir

The County Final of the Scor Sinsir was held in Tullycorbett Hall on Friday 21st  February. A wonderful night’s entertainment of Irish music, song, dance, recitation, drama and question time was throughly enjoyed by those present. Sean Mc Cahey represented Aughnamullen in Amhlánaioch Aonair, and accompanying himself on guitar, he gave an excellent rendering of the haunting Irish song Cruacan na Páistí. It was indeed a pleasure to listen to. The club was represented in the Ceol Uirlise by five very accomplished musicians- namely Martin Mc Ginn on the Flute and Harpist Nadia Markey. Their playing of the Foxhunters jig, the Newly Mown Medow and McArthurs Rell were greatly appreciated by the audience. Quiz experts Noel Callan, his son Joseph, Brian Mc Ardle and Martin Mc Ginn gave of their best in the final item of the night – Trath na gCeist. Without doubt, it was a memorable evening’s entertainment.
Well Done:  Well done to all those who represented the club I.e. Instrumental group of Martin, Marie and Joe Mc Ginn, Nadia Markey & Shauna Sweeney, Solo Singing Sean Mc Cahey and Question Time of Noel Callan, Joe Callan, Brian Mc Ardle and Martin Mc Ginn.
