Gael Linn Mixed Doubles

It was always going to be difficult for Eoghan and Louise Mc Ginnity in the Gael Linn Ulster competition especially against 2 very strong Tyrone players.  The Monaghan youngsters easily defeated Antrim in the quarter finals and then faced Tyrone’s Dara Curran and Mairead Fox. The latter has just returned from USA after winning the Under 11 US title.  The much-younger Monaghan player, Louise, played really well and contested many long rallies even though her opponent would eventually win the match.  Eoghan, however, shocked the Tyrone supporters by defeating Dara Curran in his Singles match.  The Mixed Doubles finale was very close with Tyrone emerging as overall winners.

County and Ulster Fixtures

The court will be fully booked this week with County and Ulster fixtures. Seamus Mc Kenna and Mark Treanor compete in the Novice 4 grade while Ramunas plays Eugene Mc Geough on Sunday in the Ulster Minor Singles.  We welcome some Junior Ulster players on Sunday also.
