Monaghan GAA Awards

Heartiest congratulations to Sean Hughes and Dessie Mone who were honoured at a very enjoyable function for the Monaghan GAA Awards evening last Saturday in the Hillgrove Hotel. Sean was inducted into the Monaghan GAA Hall of Fame, while Dessie was awarded the Club Monaghan Player of the Year. Sean, who is the fifth Clontibret man to be so honoured, following in the footsteps of Hugh McKearney, Pat Clarke, Pat Murphy and Bennie Mone, regaled the audience with his witty and incisive remarks. Dessie was a popular winner on the night in recognition of some great performances in the Monaghan jersey during 2013. Well done to both winners.
