Sympathy: Jim Kelly, Latnamard, who died last week was a former Aghabog player in the late 1950’s and early 60’s. Jim played minor football with Threemilehouse and progressed to playing junior football with his local club. A handy and nippy forward, Jim caused plenty of problems to the opposing defences, In the sparce match reports of those years, Jim got on the score sheet of many of those games.  However like many of his team mates, emigration to England in the mid sixties beckoned, Jim served his time in the pub trade and progressed to becoming a successful bar manager in later years. Jim, on his retirement came back home to Latnamard, built a new house and enjoyed many years in the company of his mother Mary Ellen. Jim kept a keen interest in the fortunes of the local club scene, attending many of the games, another interest of Jim’s was reading, where his trip to the library was a must right up to a short time ago.  Another passion of Jim’s was the game of cards, he hosted a weekly card playing in his house where he enjoyed the banter with his regular players. A quiet and unasuming person, Jim will be missed by the entire community.
Our sympathy goes to his brother Joe, sister Eileen and the extended Kelly family.

Senior Team Training: Continues on Friday night as arranged.

Race Night: There will be a race night for our players on Friday 31st January. Funds raised will go towards the costs for our adult teams this year and all support would be greatly appreciated.

125 Year Anniversary: Our club will be celebrating its 125th year in existence in 2015. We hope to mark the occasion in a special way. We would welcome any ideas on what would be appropriate for the occasion. A small sub – committee will be set up shortly to oversee the project.

Ulster GAA Coaching Conference: The O’Neill’s Ulster GAA Coaching Conference 2014

The theme for 2014 is ’20/20 Vision for 2020 Clubs’ and will have a particular resonance with those coaches working within schools, clubs, academies and county squads in urban settings. Guest speaker will be Brian Mullins, former Dublin Manager. Anybody interested in attended please contact a club officer.
