Senior County Final: A new chapter was written in the history of our club on Sunday, as the Seniors ended a long Championship barren spell by securing the Mick Duffy Cup with a 2-16 to 0-7 victory over Clontibret. Shane Carey helped himself to a brace of goals, whilst Donal Morgan put in a superb display kicking four points and earning the man-of-the-match award. There were excellent performances throughout the team, as manager Mattie McGleenan tactics worked to perfection. Darren Hughes had the honour of being the first Scotstown player to lift the Mick Duffy Cup since 1993. Bonfires welcomed the team and management home from Clones on Sunday evening, and after a post-match meal in Knockatallon, the team paraded the trophy around the parish by bus, arriving back to the Complex to continue the celebrations. The Scotstown team and scorers on Sunday were: Rory Beggan (0-1); Damien McArdle, Donal Morgan (0-4), Mark Duffy; Padraig Keenan, William Carroll (0-1), Emmet Caulfield; Francis Caulfield, James Turley; Kieran Hughes (0-1), Shane Carey (2-3), Darren Hughes (captain); Peter O’Hara, Nicholas Corrigan (0-1), Conor McCarthy (0-3).
