Coaching Workshops: Following on from the success at club and county level it’s important that we don’t rest on our laurels and seek all the assistance and coaching aids that there are out there.  The winter is a perfect time for this and there’s a very comprehensive program for all coaches called ‘Building on the Success’ this is on Saturday the 24th of November and is suitable for all our coaches from Juvenile up.  It’s our coaches’ duty to attend these courses there are morning and afternoon sessions to suit.  Please contact Phelim or Joanne for details.

Seniors: Match against Drumhowan on Sunday was conceded by Drumhowan leaving the final game of the season against Corduff on Saturday in Clones at 3pm.  Although this game matters little having secured our Intermediate status for next year, the lads would appreciate your support in this their final game.  We look forward to next year with work to do but also cognisant that on our day we’re able to compete with the top teams.  Belief, focus and avoiding complacency will be key tools for the coming season but for now the lads can pack away their boots and dream of things to come.  Thanks to all the players and management for all their hard work during the season.

JPC: The club is delighted to be part of this campaign following a very successful ‘Mind your Body’ launch in Largy College last Wednesday.  The essence of this campaign is good clean living, everything in moderation in association with sport.  Check the posters and YouTube videos for more information.

Club Merchandise: With Halloween almost over now is the time to be thinking about Christmas presents and what better gift than Club Gear, there’s new products in for the winter season with beanies and jackets all with the Club crest.  Please contact Joanne for details.  There’s a two week lead time on some of these lines so don’t leave it on the long finger, order now to avoid disappointment.

Congratulations to Clones Golf Club who celebrated their centenary recently. We wish them continued success in the future.

Deepest Sympathy: It was with heavy hearts that we learned of the sudden passing of Niall Donohue late week.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Niall’s family, friends and clubmates as they try and come to terms with their loss.  If ever we needed a reminder to look out for one another let this be it.  Things are never as bad as they seem, talk to people and they will listen.  Paulo Coehlo says in one of his books ‘A man is at his strongest when he is willing to be vulnerable’. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam dilis.

Lotto:  No results for this week as draw took place on Tuesday owing to the Bank Holiday.  Double result next week.  Many thanks to our ticket sellers and purchasers, this is a vital revenue stream for the club and your support as always is much appreciated.
