U13 Floodlit League

The boys took part in the U13 hurling floodlit league in Cloghan over the past two Monday nights. In completely contrasting conditions to the previous week, the standard of hurling was as crisp as the cool october air, with some great and exciting games. Having beaten both Carrickmacross and Monaghan Harps it all came down to a decider with our old rivals Iniskeen. A tough and equally matched first half finished on level scores, but the boys restarted strongly and outscored a determined Iniskeen by 3 points to 1 in the second to take victory. The were some excellent performances all round particularly from Craig Callan, Declan Hughes, Stephen Beaty, David Irwin and Logan McQuillan. Overall the standard of hurling on show was high and reflects the hard work put in by players and mentors over the last 12 months and our thanks also goes to Pauric Dowdall for the work he puts in at County Development level with both clubs and schools in promoting the game.
