Blackhill Emeralds G.F.C. club notes
Senior Fixtures
JFC Final Blackhill v Emyvale Sunday October 6th 4PM in Scotstown.
JFL Semi-Final Blackhill v Seán MacDiarmada Saturday October 12th 4.30PM
JFC Final
We will travel to the heartland of Monaghan football on Sunday when we contest the Junior Football Championship Final at St.Mary’s Park, Scotstown at 4PM. We will be aiming to bridge a 61 year gap (1952) since the Junior Championship was last won by our club. In the intervening years we contested the finals of 1969 & 2004. We have had a good consistent league and championship campaign to date and we wish all the players and the manager Thomas Duffy and his assistant Tony Comiskey the very best of luck, when they meet Emyvale. As this year’s unofficial motto goes “Hon the ‘Hill!”
JFL Semi-Final
We have qualified for the semi-final of the Junior Football League, Doctor Ward Cup for the first time since 1968. We will play Sean McDermotts in Blackhill on Saturday October 12th at 4.30PM.
Club Merchandise
A new range of club merchandise is available from the club siopa, which shall be open today (Thursday) between 7PM and 8-30PM. Check in the club social centre for other opening times. Declan Loughmans Sports also has a new range of very nice club gear in store.
Breakfast morning with the players
Last Sunday’s breakfast morning was a great success. Many thanks to the business sponsors, players and club volunteers who worked on the day and organised the event. Many thanks also to all the Gaels from neighbouring clubs and in particular to the brave men! from the Emyvale Cycling Club who supported our event. We thank you all sincerely for coming and for your generosity.
All-Ireland Ladies Football Final
Hard luck to the Monaghan ladies, who wore the county jersey with pride and distinction last Sunday, everyone is rightly proud of your efforts.
