Minors: Cuchulain Sarsfields.Hard luck to our minor team who were defeated in the Championship Final on Sunday last against Donaghmoyne. In a game where the lads did not play to their full potential is disappointing however that is sport and I am sure better days will come for them. On to the game in the first half we started quite nervous with Donaghmoyne scored a goal and 2 points without reply but we came back with 3 unanswered points to leave the half time 1-2 to 0-3 in favour of Donaghmoyne.
Into the second half we got a great chance to get into the game when awarded a penalty which was dispatched to the net. However we were dealt a major blow when the referee awarded Donaghmoyne were awarded a penalty of their own to the amazement of anyone at the game the goal was scored and tried as might we could not reduce the deficit and Donaghmoyne ran out winners on the day and well done to them. Thanks is extended to management team of Colm Mc Geough and Brian Duffy and also the team who put in a magnificent effort all year.
