Hurling:

Juveniles: The Under-16s were unlucky to lose out in the league final against Carrickmacross in Drumhowan last Sunday. Played in very tough conditions, with heavy rain accompanied by strong wind, our lads competed well in the first half, with a goal by Ciarán Cassidy and points by Cathal Power (two), Conor Flynn and Ruairí Forde seeing them go in level at half-time (1-4 apiece), but having to play a man down for most of the match proved too big a challenge and Carrick gained the upper hand in the second half. The lads have a chance to bounce back when they host Inniskeen in the championship semi-final this Thursday at 6pm.

Team and scorers: Dylan McAree; Conor Duffy, Ryan Connolly; Niall McManus, Cathal Power (0-4f), Reece Treanor; Seán Grant (Capt.), Kyle O’Leary; Ruairí Forde (0-1), Remy McKenna, Ciarán Cassidy (1-0); David Lowry, Conor Flynn (0-1).

Subs: Mark Murphy, Aidan Burns, Paul Peppard, Anthony Connolly, Anthony Greenan, Thomas Croarkin, Niall Ward, John Lowry, Zach Mallen, Jorin Conor.

Training for all juveniles continues on Sundays at 12pm.

Seniors: Our seniors will play Craobh Rua, Camlough (Armagh) in the Ulster Junior Championship on Sunday, October 6.

Sportsperson’s Dream: Any club member still to receive tickets to sell for the Sportsperson’s Dream fundraiser should contact James Greenan & pick up tickets at next training session.
