Drumhowan notes

By cshalvey Wed 4th Sep

Seniors- Drumhowan will face Aughnamullen in the league this Sunday in Aughnamullen at 1.30. Please come out and show your support.

Minors – St Pats were due to open their championship campaign with a game against Cremartin on Tuesday evening last.

U-16 – St Pats 3-10 Scotstown 1-9 – St Pats had a good win against a strong Scotstown side in the league semi-final on Saturday afternoon last. This was a good all round team performance with all players showing well and working hard. They have now made the final where they will meet a formidable Donaghmoyne outfit and try and win the double a feat which very few teams manage to do. Training continues as normal in preparation for the final in two weeks time.

U-14 – Drumhowan play Aghabog on Monday night next at 6.15pm in Drumhowan in the league semi-final. Again we ask for our supporters to come out in force to cheer on the boys.

U-12 – Division 1B Semi Final  Drumhowan 4-9  Emyvale 5-4 – A game of the proverbial two halves in Mc Keown Park on Friday night last when we rose Lazarus like from 15 points down at half time to go on a record a 2 point win over a gallant Emyvale side. Whatever was said at half time certainly worked as the team played with far more purpose, vigour and determination in the second period to record a memorable win. We wish a speedy recovery to ace forward Cormac Duffy who suffered a heavy collision resulting in him going to hospital after the game. His replacement Lauren Duffy came on and scored the winning goal proving that a strong panel of players are needed to compete for honours.

U-12 1B Cup Final – We play Inniskeen on this Saturday morning at 10-30am in Aughnamullen in the final. With the two league games between the sides only been sorted by a point another close and exciting game is in store. We wish the boys and girls all the best as they continue on what has been another very exciting year at juvenile level. Best of luck to the management team of Anthony Brennan, Sean Smyth, Padraig Duffy, Barry Tomany, Francis Mc Mahon and Paul Mc Guirk. This team has been involved in a series of very exciting games so far so we would appeal for a massive Drumhowan support at the game on Saturday morning in Aughnamullen.

Under 6/8/10 Training Continues Mondays at 7pm. The Under 8 side have a blitz in Clones on Saturday 14th September and the U-10 team are in Clones the following Saturday 21st September.

Thanks- Many thanks to all helpers for all weekend for the games
