Doohamlet GFC Notes
U14 Champions: Our U14 team became our latest Champions on Saturday last with a comprehensive victory against Corduff. With U12 and U16 titles already won in recent weeks our U14’s took a little time to settle but once they got into their stride there was only going to be one winner and Captain Hugh McGinn led by example and lifted the cup after a commanding 5-21 to 5-06 victory.
Well done Jim Kelly and Eamon Hughes, A great achievement from this group of players who went through the league unbeaten and are worthy Champions. Panel: Shane Leer, John Murphy, Oisin Fee, Sean Markey, Cormac McKenna, Hugh McGinn (Capt), Eoin Markey, Garreth Duffy, Matthew McKenna, Dermot Kelly, Oisin O’Neill, David Duffy, Darragh Ruddin, Cillian Walshe, Daniel Connolly, Jack Malone.
Minors: Our Minor team are currently preparing for their Championship Final on Sunday 6th October but they also have a tasty league Semi-Final against Blayney Faughs on Saturday next 28th Sept. Throw in 5.30pm in Castleblayney. All support welcome.
Seniors: Our Senior team travelled to Ratoath on Saturday last and represented our County in the Intermediate All Ireland 7’s. Doohamlet competed very well with five victories to bring them to the semi-final. With the long day and fatigue playing a major factor Doohamlet lost narrowly to the eventual Champions from Kildare. Well done to all the players for their efforts.
