Two of the last three winners of our Lotto have been the same person. The odds on that happening were 420 million to one, but oddly enough the odds on that same person winning again next week are exactly the same as for everyone else,- think about it !! It could be you or it could be Dan, again!! ‘If you are not in you cannot win’

Seniors

We played Clones in the Mc Guigan Builders Intermediate football championship on Sunday last in Ballybay and came away with a resounding victory. In very difficult weather conditions and with the gale force wind behind us we started tentatively and it took us eight minutes to register a score but then we played extremely well to lead at half time by 2-10 to 0-0 and the game was essentially over. With an admirably disciplined second half display we won easily on a score line of 2-13 to 1-5. Team and scorers:- Fergal Connolly, Sean Brady, Conor Mc Caffrey, Enda Mc Caffrey, Ben Clerkin (0-1), Ciaran Mc Caffrey, (0-3), Gerard O Callaghan, Dick Clerkin, Francis O Callaghan , Dara Brady,  Stephen Smith,(1-1) , Shane O Connor(0-2), Niall McEntee (0-1), Jack Mc Carron, (0-4), Philip O Callaghan (1-1). Subs used, Paddy Mc Dermott for Francis O Callaghan, Cian North for Shane O Connor. This was arguably one of our best overall team displays which was unfortunately marred by the serious injury to Francis O Callaghan midway through the first half. We all wish Francis a speedy recovery. We have no game now for two weeks and hopefully some of those injuries will have a chance to heal, as our limited resources are being stretched to the limit.

Juvenile and Youth  affairs.

U8
We competed in our last Go-Games competition in Clones on Saturday last. This brings to an end the football for our U8’s for this year. The club would like to thank all the coaches involved, the parents who helped out at training and all those who provided transport to the games. Of course, a big thanks to all the fabulous players who trained and played all season, stars of the future, no doubt.

U14 Girls
Congratulations to our four U-14 girls, Elisha McCaul, Ciara Murphy, Kerrie Fitzpatrick and Aoife McEntee who have been playing with Killeevan this year. They have won their championship final recently. Well done to all involved.

Ladies Football

Aghabog ladies had a facile win over Antrim Champions, Glenavy at home last Sunday in their quest for Ulster honours. Well done to all concerned.

‘Up for the Match’

Congratulations to our neighbours Aghabog on their excellent night last Friday. There were lots of highlights on the night not least those in the hair of one of the panel. This was a really enjoyable evening for young and old, well done.

Shane O Neill, R.I.P.

It was with a deep sadness that we learned of the death of Shane O Neill, Clones, last week. Shane, was father of current Currin senior team selector, Shane. Shane took a great interest in all sports and was a life long supporter of Glasgow Celtic. He had a huge interest in the G.A.A. both local and county and in recent years he took particular enjoyment in his son Shane’s involvement with Currin G.F.C. We extend our sympathy to his wife Mary, to his son P.J. and especially to Shane and also to his extended family and friends.  Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal.
