Lotto. The numbers drawn in the Club Lotto this weekend were 5, 7, 18 and 26. The jackpot was not won and the four winners of the Lucky Dip were Peter McEntegart, Carrickmacross, Kathrina Maloney, Carrickmacross, Eilish Clarke, c/o Bernard Freeman and Brigid McCaul and Sarah Hickey. The next draw will take place in the clubrooms on Monday 12th August and the Jackpot will be 3,200 euro.
Pitch Development. The field has now been leveled and is ready from the next stage.
This will consist of the laying of the main drainage along with plastic drains at various intervals. It is hoped to commence this work next week.
The club will continue to post photos and progress reports on the club website and/or the clubs facebook page so members far and near can keep up to date with progress.
Fixtures. Now that the Monaghan senior team is no longer involved in the senior football championship the local league and championship fixtures will re- commence and teams will be very busy over the next six weeks. After the senior league game versus Doohamlet on Wednesday evening the senior team will have another fixture at the week-end with a visit to Scotstown. The same two teams are due to meet in the championship the following week-end in Clontibret on Sunday 18th. Further details on this fixture will be confirmed soon.
Charity Cycle. Leo Marron has organised a 150 kilometre Charity Cycle which will be held on Sunday, September 14th. It is in aid of Magheracloone Care of the Aged and the GAA club’s pitch development. Anyone interested in taking part or helping in any way is asked to contact Thomas McDermott at 0872251476 or Leo himself at0872846996.
Charity Cycle Launch.
Keep Fri 9th Aug Free for the charity cycle launch which will take place in Nallo’s from 9pm. This is a chance to come along to meet and greet the twenty five brave cyclists undertaking the 150km trek. Some of the personalities taking to two wheels will be Leo Marron, Johnny Smith, Gerry Jones, Padraig Doogan, Declan Rudden, Fiona Kindlon and James Kieran.
County Teams. Continued good wishes to club players involved with the county minor team as they progress to a trip to Croke Park for an All-Ireland semi-final and commiserations to the senior players who gave their followers so much to cheer about during their campaign.
Under 12 Shield Semi-final. Monaghan is the venue for the Shield semi-final which will take place on Saturday 17th at 12 noon. The opponents will be the local team and all support for these young people would be appreciated.
