Latton GAA Club Notes – Week Beginning 19th August 2013

Senior Football

We played Ballybay in the Senior Championship last Sunday afternoon. In a very tense encounter the County champions emerged victorious with a fortuitous ‘smash & grab’ goal in the dying seconds of the game. Final Score: Ballybay 1-8 Latton 0-9. See full report elsewhere. We have a bye in the next round of the back door and therefore we must wait to face either Doohamlet/Carrick, Blayney/Magheracloone or Rockcorry on the weekend of Friday 6th September.

We played Carrickmacross at home in the Senior league last night (Wednesday 21st): Check elsewhere for result.

Our next league fixture is this Friday 23rd away v Castleblayney at 7.15pm.

All-Ireland Semi-Finals

We wish every success to the Co Minors, under the guidance of Frank Brady, who face Mayo in Croke Park on Sunday August 25th. The centre will be open for anyone who wants to enjoy watching the semi-finals on the big-screen.

All-Ireland Football Final tickets

Keep Friday 20th September free as we will hold a raffle in the centre for two sets of All-Ireland Football Final tickets. If you’re not in, you can’t win!

Blessing of graves 2013

The annual blessing of graves will take place at St. Marys Church Latton, on Sunday 25th August, following 11.30am mass. The O’Rahilly GAA Club cordially invites all attending to come along to the O’Rahilly centre for a cup of tea & light refreshments following the conclusion of ceremonies. This is an occasion when families, old neighbours and friends always enjoy meeting up. This year the club are offering patrons facilities for lunches/meals etc. Anyone interested in booking lunch or for further information etc. please contact The Mall Restaurant Catering Services on 087-4113950 (Peadar Lynch).
