Doohamlet GFC Notes
All Ireland Quarter Final: Monaghan Senior footballers restored pride in the county jersey during 2013 and just fell short last weekend against our nemesis Tyrone. It was a game that all Monaghan supporters felt was left behind with a number of controversial decisions go against the boys in blue. We thank all the players and management for their magnificent committment during 2013 and they can be very proud of a very successful season finishing as League and Ulster champions.
Congratulations also to our Minors who return to Croke Park for an All Ireland semi-final after their great result on Monday.
Seniors: Our Senior team now return to action with a game last night against Magheracloone and a home fixture on Sunday next against Carrick. Colin Walshe picked up a hamstring injury with Monaghan last weekend and will be a major absentee, Paul McArdle also has recently departed our shores and our panel is seriously stretched at this time. We wish our management and players well.
Thank You: To Donaghmoyne GFC who travelled to O’Neill Park on Friday evening last and provided a very useful challenge match. Both teams can be very happy with aspects of their game and will be very happy to have had game time.
