All-Ireland Series: Best of luck to the Monaghan Senior and Minor footballers in their All-Ireland Quarter-Finals at the weekend. Tickets ordered through the club for the Senior game against Tyrone can be collected in the Social Club at the Complex between 10 and 11pm this Friday night.

Seniors: The Seniors were in League action on Tuesday evening at home to Latton.

Under 21: A Scotstown team short a number of players were defeated by Truagh in the Under 21 League Division One Final on Friday last. Team and scorers: Conor Forde (0-1); David Caulfield, Ciaran Treanor, Niall Corrigan; Caolan McElwain, Elliot Maguire, Shane Rice; Ross McKenna (0-1), Donnacha Dolan; John Caulfield, Tommy Moyna, Micheal McCarville (0-2); Ruairi Sheehan (0-2), Nessan McCrudden, Seán Mohan (0-1). Substitutes used: Jason Carey, Conor O’Harte, Conor McKenna, Emmet King, Jack McDevitt.

Minors: The Minors drew away to Monaghan Harps, 1-6 to 0-9 on Tuesday evening last. Scotstown team and scorers: Conor Forde; Philip O’Connell, Caolan McElwain, John Caulfield; Kevin Treanor, Jack Turley, Jamie Mohan; Jack McDevitt, Donnacha Dolan (0-1); James Sherry, Conor McKenna (0-1), Brendan Boylan; Conor McCarthy (0-3), Micheal McCarville (1-0), Francis Maguire. Substitutes used: Kieran Treanor (0-1), Mark Fox, Ruairi Moyna. The last game before the knockout stages of the League is away to leaders Carrickmacross next Wednesday, August 7th throwing-in at 7:30pm.

Reserves: Maghercloone conceded the last fixture of the League schedule, so Scotstown finish in second place in RFL Division 1A and qualify for the Final. That Final will be against Clontibret, and it takes place this Friday evening, August 2nd at 7:45pm in Tyholland.

Juniors: The C team earned their first win of the season last Wednesday evening with a victory in Smithborough against Éire Óg by 2-14 to 1-16. Scotstown team and scorers: Gerard McKenna; David Caulfield, Chris McAleer, Adrian Carbin (0-1); Paul Sherlock, Ross McKenna (1-0), Barry McMeel; Damien F McKenna, Donnacha Dolan (0-1); Mark McKenna, Tommy Moyna, Emmet McCrudden (0-2); Ruairi Sheehan (1-6), Mark McDevitt (0-3), Nessan McCrudden (0-1). Substitute used: Mark Corrigan. They followed that up with another win at Aghabog on Sunday, 0-13 to 0-10. Team and scorers were: Cian Mohan; David Caulfield, Chris McAleer, Adrian Carbin (0-2); Emmet McCrudden (0-1), Ciaran Treanor (0-1), Barry McMeel; Damien F McKenna (0-1), Ross McKenna; Tommy Moyna, Mark McKenna, Shane Rice (0-2); Paul Sherlock (0-1), Mark McDevitt (0-3), Nessan McCrudden (0-1). Substitutes used: Jason Carey, Declan McCarville (0-1), Emmet King & Conor O’Harte. They rounded off a busy week with a home fixture against Killeevan on Wednesday evening. Next up is a trip to Toome on August 18th.

Under 16: The Under 16’s had a good win at home to Saint Patrick’s (a Ballybay/Drumhowan combination) on Thursday evening on a 2-11 to 2-6 score line. Scotstown team and scorers: Fintan Sherlock; Rory McCarthy, Ben McDevitt, Alan McKenna; Jamie McKenna, Ruairi McKenna, Cillian Murphy; Oisin Sherlock, Shane McMahon; Caolan McKenna (0-1), Jamie McCarey (2-2), Adrian Grew (0-2); Lorcan Murray, James Corley (0-1), Leonard McDermott (0-5). Substitutes used: James Sherry; Mel Treacy; Eanna Deery. They were away at Monaghan Harps on Monday evening, earning a convincing 5-11 to 0-3 win. Team & scorers: Fintan Sherlock; Rory McCarthy (0-1), Ben McDevitt, Alan McKenna; Jamie McKenna, Lorcan Murray, Connor Mohan; Cillian Murphy (0-1); James Sherry; Shane McMahon (1-1); Caolan McKenna (0-1) , Jamie McCarey (1-2), Adrian Grew (2-3); James Corley (0-1), Eanna Deery. Subs Used: James Mc Cague, Leonard McDermott, Gary Cassidy, Jack Mohan (1-1), Connor Creighan. The next fixture is away to Clontibret on Thursday, August 15th.

Under 14: The Under 14 Division One side drew at home to Magheracloone on Saturday – Scotstown 5-5, Magheracloone 2-14. The Division Five team lost out to Emerald Sarsfields on Saturday. The A team play Clones/Currin on Tuesday, August 13th, with the B team away to Truagh on the same evening.

Under 12: The A team drew with Monaghan Harps last Thursday evening, and they now face Latton in a play-off this Sunday at 12 noon.

Ned Run 2013: This year’s Ned Run takes place on Saturday week, August 10th at 4pm. There will be music, food, entertainment and recreational football after the run, and “The Indians” will be performing live on stage. Training for runners & walkers continues at Kilmore every Monday evening at 7pm.

Recreational: In the memory of deceased Gaels, the Ned Boylan Cup Final and the Sean Hegarty Shield Final will both take place immediately after the Ned Run on Saturday 10th of August at St. Mary’s Park, Scotstown. This should be a great evening of entertainment and fun for all the family. We look forward to seeing your support at what promises to be a great day for the community.

Ciste: The July draw took place on Saturday night, and the winners were: €700 – Gerard Sherry, Carrowhatta; €300 – Eileen Treanor, Drumdart; €100 – Rita Clerkin, Knockballyroney; €100 – Danny Clerkin, Threemilehouse; €100 – Myles Treanor, Drumdart; €100 – David Caulfield, Carrowhatta; €100 – Seamus McEneaney, Dernagrew; €100 – Katie McDermott, Ballinode. Sellers prizes: €30 – Seamus McElwain and €30 Matt McCrudden. The next draw will take place on Saturday 31st August 2013.

Development Draw: Ticket sellers are out in force for our Development Draw, with a car and other valuable prizes on offer. Tickets are priced at €20 each or three for €50. They are also available on the Scotstown GAA website, with Paypal/Credit Card payments accepted.

Condolences: Sympathy is extended to the families and friends of the recently deceased, including Dympna Hughes (nee McKenna), Drumreaske.

Ladies Senior and Minor: Training every Tuesday and Friday at 7.30pm sharp.

Ladies U16: Training continues every Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm.

Ladies U14: Training every Monday and Thursday in Kilmore at 6.30pm.

Ladies U10 & U8: Training every Monday at 6.30pm in Kilmore.
