Féile Champions: Pride of place this week goes to our Under-14 hurlers and their management, who had a hugely successful weekend in Limerick. They competed in Division Five, and had their opening game on Friday evening against their host club Askeaton, which they won on a score line of 5-8 to 1-3. On Saturday morning they secured top spot in their group, and a semi-final place, with victories over St Mary’s, Rathkeale and Carrickmore from Tyrone. They showed impressive resilience and team spirit in their semi-final to come from ten points down to win by a point against Oran, Roscommon to book themselves a place in the final on Sunday morning against Lisbellaw. The Harps were equally impressive in the final where they ran out 6-4 to 3-5 winners with another great team display. The team accumulated an impressive 24-36 along the way in winning the Féile. There’s no doubt that these lads are the pride of the club, and they were rapturously welcomed back to the clubhouse on Sunday evening where a great evening was enjoyed by all. Huge congratulations to the whole panel and their management on what was a brilliant success for the club.
