Drumhowan Club Notes 2/7/13
Minors – play Cuchulain Sarsfields in Drumhowan on Tuesday July 9th in the first game after the exam break.
Under 16s – St Pats continued their league campaign with an away draw last Thursday against a very strong Sean Mc Dermotts side. They then had nine points to spare over Scotstown in the championship on Sunday morning last on a wet and windy morning in Ballybay. It took a lucky goal early in the second half to edge us in front and we pushed on from there. However the team will be satisfied to win they will know major improvement will be needed to progress. This team has a busy schedule as they play Clontibret away tonight Thursday at 7-30 and then on this Sunday morning they continue their championship campaign with a home game against Carrickmacross in Ballybay at noon. Best of luck to the team and management and we appeal to supporters to come out and support the team.
Under 14s- play Killeevan on Saturday July 13th at home.
Under 12s- Drumhowan 3-8 Truagh 4-7 There was disappointment for our under 12 side when they suffered a two point defeat to Truagh last week. This was a game we were ahead for most of it but two late goals won it for Truagh. Some fixtures for this side may be changed so check
with management for details.
Go Games Blitz – It’s a busy week as both our Under 8 and Under 10 teams were in action last night in Cloghan. Then on this Saturday our Under 8 team is back in Cloghan for 9-15am for another blitz that will be over for 11-30am.
Sports Day – Our under 10 team played Clontibret on Sunday last in an exciting game. Our under 8 side also played Aughnamullen and a few players made their debut in the blue and gold. All the teams were presented with medals afterwards and thanks to both Clontibret and Aughnamullen for taking part.
Croke Park – Well done to Patrick Quinn and Joseph Duffy who played in a series of Mini games in Croke Park on Tuesday. Hopefully we might see the boys and others from the club on the hallowed sod in the future.
