Doohamlet GFC Notes

Lorcan Duffy Cup:  On Friday last Doohamlet GFC in association with SOSAD held their second Inter Club Golf Classic in Rossmore Golf Club Monaghan.

This event proved a massive success and grows from strength to strength.  Over thirty teams took part and congratulations to Aughnamullen GFC on winning the Lorcan Duffy Cup.  We thank everyone who took part on the day and hope to see everyone return next year.  We also thank all our main sponsors Doohamlet Construction, Eurotech, Connollys Guesthouse Doohamlet, McArdle Carpentry and Building Contractors, Duffys Pork & Bacon and The Old Coach Inn Castleblayney, Many thanks to everyone who sponsored such attractive prizes, all our sponsors of food, fruit and snacks and everyone who sponsored Tee Boxes. Without their kind generosity this event would not be possible. We also thank Mary and Bernie for their hard work serving food throughout the day to our hungry golfers.

Special thanks to the Lorcan Duffy Committee who organised this event and  proceeds raised for SOSAD (Save our Sons and Daughters) will be presented in the near future. Finally a big Thank You to Rossmore G. C. who provided such excellent facilities and were so helpful on the day.

All Ireland Quarter Finals:  Every County team in Ireland hold ambitions to be in Croke Park on Bank Holiday  quarter finals weekend.  Monaghan Senior footballers are privileged to be one of the last eight in the All Ireland series  as Ulster Champions and deservedly so. We are now in bonus territory and Doohamlet GFC wish Colin and the Monaghan team best wishes as we take on our nemesis Tyrone on Saturday next.

We also wish Barry and the Minor team Good Luck as they travel to Longford on Monday next to play Tipperary.  Good Luck to both teams and management and may the dream continue.

Special Thanks:  To all Doohamlet Gaels who turned out in such large numbers on Monday last to greet the Monaghan teams as they passed through the village on their victory tour.  It was much appreciated by the Ulster Champions.
