Doohamlet GFC Notes

Ulster Champions:  What a weekend for Monaghan football as Ulster titles were won at both Senior and Minor level.  Barry McGinn came off the bench and made an immediate impact scoring two goals and helped his side to a first Minor title in 68 years.  This set the tone for our Senior team and Colin Walshe and his teammates showed a desire and hunger that Donegal could not match and deservingly ran out winners of a first Ulster title since 1988.  Well done to everyone concerned players, management and backroom team.  You have done your county proud.

U16’s:  Hard luck to our young U16 team who were defeated in their U16 Championship final last week to a stronger amalgamated side Aghabog/Currin.

Fixtures:  With our county sides success senior fixtures are currently up in the air at the moment.

Lorcan Duffy Cup:  Our Inter Club Golf Challenge takes place tomorrow Friday 26th at Rossmore Golf Club.  A lot of work has gone on in organising this event and let’s hope the weather is kind and we have a successful day.
