U- 6 ,U- 8 & U-10 at 6.15pm
Under 12s
Our U12s secured a second win in the Monaghan league against a strong Carrickmacross team at Concra on Monday night. Level at the end of the first period, the boys pulled away in the second with some fine scores. Top scorer on the night was David Irwin with four points; our other scores coming from Niall Carville, Robbie Hanratty, Conall McHugh and Mikey Carville. It was great to see Mikey Carville back in action after a couple of months out with an injury, comining on as a sub for Joshua Mone who was injured in the first period. All players on the night really stepped up to the mark with Ben Carville and Joey Hughes putting in outstanding displays in the backs. Declan McNally, Jake McManus and Cillian Hanratty also played their part and a couple of big saves from goalkeeper, Ciaran Duffy were crucial in the early stages.
Apart from the starting 11 it was great to see the rest of the boys who came on through the game all contributing, with Senan O’Brien, James Hannaway, Caleb McArdle, Iain Kindlon, Darragh Carty, Conor McCooey and Peter McGinn all showing what they can do.
Training continues in Concra on Wednesday evenings at 6.15. Details of our next fixture will be forwarded by text.
