Lotto – There was no winner of the €11,000 jackpot this week which was held on Monday night the 8th of July. The numbers drawn were 05, 16, 21, 22. The 4 lucky dips of €50 were Dolores Kelly, Drumillard, Aidan Tavey, Cairde, Raymond Farrell, Conabury Hill and M & M Maguire, 59 Rosevale Warm congratulations to Mr John Gallen , Conabury Hill who won the monthly prize of a BBQ in June and in celebration of the beautiful weather, July’s monthly prize will also be a BBQ. Adult Football – With senior football on hold because of Monaghan’s continued involvement in the Ulster Championship, the focus falls on our reserves. The B’s were in action last night (Wed) against Scotstown and face Latton this Saturday evening at 8PM in St Marys Park. The C’s face Sean’s next Wednesday night at 8PM, again in St Marys Park.

Over 35s – Our recreational team makes its “competitive” debut this Saturday evening in a tournament organised by Oram GFC. The action gets underway in Oram from 6PM with the teams in action Faughs, Oram, Clontibret and Monaghan Harps. Admission is free and there will be a BBQ on the evening so come along and join in the fun

The Gathering Dinner Dance – The Faughs Gathering Ball will take place on Saturday August 24th at 8pm in the Glencarn Hotel. This Gala Ball promises to be one of the highlights of what is going to be a great weekend in Castleblayney.  It will honour the famous five-in-a-row winning team as well as giving the people of Castleblayney an opportunity to gather to reminisce about the old times and more importantly, allow people to catch up friends from years gone by. A fine meal will be followed by music and other entertainment into the night and will be the perfect opportunity for everyone to mix and mingle, all for a fantastic price of €50 per ticket. Minors – The minor team returned to action last Tuesday evening with a game against Inniskeen, please check website for results. Next up for the lads is a match against St Tiarnachs next Tuesday evening in Clones. Training will continue on Fridays at 6.30pm and Sundays at 5pm.

Under 16 – The boys are down to play Doohamlet in a league games this Thursday evening, the match will take place in Concra with a throw in time of 7pm. Training time will be confirmed later in the week by the management team.

Under 14 – The boys have an away game against Donaghmoyne next Saturday which will be another good test. Paul will confirm travel arrangements during the week. Training continues at 6.15pm on Tuesday and at 7pm on Thursday.

Under 12 Boys – The development team kept their good progress going last week when they defeated Aghabog. There were strong performances from all the players on the evening. Next up for the boys is a match against Doohamlet on July 17th at 7 pm.  The Senior team had an away game against Magheracloone last night (Wednesday), their next match is against Carrickmacross on Tuesday evening with throw in at 7.30pm.

Under 12 Girls – It was a busy opening week for the U12 girls, with 2 games in the space of 3 days against O’Neills and then Aughnamullen. This is a very young U12 side, most of whom are still underage at this level for the next few seasons. They gave a very good account of themselves in both games, showing great determination, skill and a never say die attitude against the physically stronger opposition. Next up for the girls is an away fixture to Donaghmoyne, on Saturday 13th July at 12pm. Training continues on Monday evenings at the football field at 6pm.

Under 10 – The boys are in Cloghan this Saturday morning where they play in the next series of Go Games , the first game is down for a 9.30am throw in with the games finishing at 12pm. Training continues this Thursday.

Under 8 – The under 8 team travelled to Cloghan for their Go Games last Saturday ,both teams gave a good account of themselves with a strong showing of skill and commitment . Well done to Diarmuid Coyle and Diarmuid Kelly on winning this weeks’ award. Training will continue this Thursday at 6 pm and again on Saturday at 10 pm.

Under 6 – Great to see some more new faces last week, training continues again at the football field on Thursday at 6pm, all new players and parents are more than welcome,

Well Done – The club were delighted to hear last week that two of our players had been selected to play their part in the All Ireland Final, Craig Callan was chosen to play in the Cumann na mBunscol exhibition game at the All Ireland Football Final while David Irwin was chosen to play in the Cumann na mBunscol exhibition game at the All Ireland Hurling Final, this is a great honour for all concerned, hopefully this will the first of many times that the boys get to play in Croke Park.

Muckno Mania – The best local festival in Ireland is fast approaching and again the club have a number of events that we are involved in. Thursday sees the Club involved in the “Come Cook with us” with Club Chairperson Stephen Dignam, Brenda Campbell, Paddy Conlon and Zoe Brady all representing the Club. Friday is the “Gathering” Parade and we would like to ask that all our players, supporters and parents walk with the club float, wearing Green and Gold if possible. On Saturday we host the Teddy Bear picnic in St Marys Park at 2.30pm followed by the Sports Day at 3.30pm. Sunday will see the Club take a stand at the Lough Muckno Park Day where people will be able to  sign up for the Summer Camp and buy tickets for the Gathering Events.

Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps – This year Camp will be held in St Mary’s Park Castleblayney starting Monday 15th of July through to Friday 19th of July. The Camp is for both boys and girls – between the ages of 6 and 13 and is an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays which revolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participant involvement in Gaelic Games. The cost of the camp is as follows €55 for 1st. child; €45 for 2nd child; €40 for 3rd and subsequent children.
