Lotto – There was no winner of the €11000 jackpot this week which was held on Monday night the 1st of July. The numbers drawn were 05, 08, 15, 28. The 4 lucky dips of €50 were Domonic McCooey, The Crescent, Mindszenty Finnegan, Lakeview, Brian Boyd, C/o Sarah Mackin and Olga Tavey, Dundalk Road.   Next weeks’ draw will be held in the Ballymacmanus Bar. Thank you for your continued support.

Closed Period – Adult football is now taking its annual two week holiday break and will return in early July.

The Gathering Dinner Dance – This week saw the launch of the Faughs Gathering Ball which will happen on Saturday August 24th at 8pm in the Glencarn Hotel. The Gala Ball promises to be one of the highlights of what is going to be a great weekend in Castleblayney. This Ball will honour the famous five-in-a-row winning team as well as giving the people of Castleblayney an opportunity to gather to reminisce about the old times and more importantly allow people to catch up friends from years gone by. A fine meal will be followed by music and other entertainment into the night will provide the perfect opportunity for everyone to mix and mingle, all for a fantastic price of €50 per ticket. Well Done – As expected a huge crowd turned up last Saturday evening in Clones to watch Monaghan take on our close neighbours and rivals Cavan in both the Senior and Minor games. Well done to all concerned, the Club was represented on both panels by Dermot Malone and Martin McElroy on the Senior Panel and Mark Kelly on the Minor panel.

Good Luck – The Club would like to extend best wishes to Aidan Lynch as he moves to London to start a new career.

Minor –  Training continues this Friday at 6.30pm and again on Sunday at 5pm. We return to action on the 9th of July with a tough opening match against Inniskeen, with the first round of the Minor Championship down for the 30th of July. Great to see Gerry Smith back on his feet and issuing instructions to his players last Friday evening.

Under 16 – The Boys had a game against Aghabog last Thursday night and with a number of players unavailable for different reasons, we had to field a team with a number of young players. Aghabog ran out convincing winners. Next fixture is a home match against Doohamlet which is on the 11th of July in St Marys Park at 7.30pm. The management team will contact all players about training this week.

Under 14 Boys – The Boys had last Saturday off, they were away to Aughnamullen on Tuesday night at 7.30 (check result on web site ) with away match against Donaghmoyne on Saturday 13th of July at 12pm.

Under 12 Boys – Had a home fixture against Monaghan Harps last Saturday in St Marys Park, the boys opened slowly and it took them a few minutes before they got into their stride. Once they got up and running they played some great football , with lots of very accurate foot passing followed up by some good support play which resulted in the boys recording a comfortable victory.  Next up for the Boys is an away game against Magheracloone, the date and time will be confirmed by the management.

The Development team had a an away game against Aghabog last Tuesday night (check web site for results), training continues tonight (Thursday) before we have another away match against Doohamlet on Wednesday 17th of July at 7pm.

Under 12 Girls – The girls match against O’Neill Shamrock had to be postponed last Saturday but was replayed last night, check website for results. Training continues on Monday night at 6pm and again on Saturday at 12pm.

Under 10 Boys – The boys had a series of Go Games last Thursday night in Doohamlet, with Rockorry, Sean’s, Eire Og and Doohamlet making up the group. Even with a number of players unavailable because of  holidays,  it still proved to be a with good run out for the team. Training will continue on Thursday evening at 7pm and again on Saturday morning at 10am in the football field. The next series of Go Games will be the all County Games on Saturday 13th of July in Cloghan at 9.30am.

Under 10 Girls – Following our recent blitzes in Blayney and Doohamlet, we are awaiting the date of the next blitz in Clontibret. Meanwhile training continues for the girls every Monday evening at 6pm in the football field.

Under 8 Boys – These boys also travelled to Doohamlet last Thursday for the Go Games and again showed further improvements. Well done this week to Sean Bishop and Shane Miller on winning this week’s awards. The Boys have another series of Go Games in Cloghan this Saturday 6th of July at 9.30am

Under 6 – Training will be in the field again on Thursday night at 6 pm .Everyone is welcome to attend.

Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps – This year Camp will be held in St Mary’s Park , Castleblayney,  starting Monday 15th of July through to Friday 19th of July. The Camp is for both boys and girls – between the ages of 6 and 13 and is an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays. The cost of the camp is as follows €55 for 1st. child; €45 for 2nd child; €40 for 3rd and subsequent children.
