INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL AGHABOG 2-14 DONAGHAMOYNE B 2-03: It proved to be third time lucky for the girls last Sunday as they defeated Donaghamoyne B in the intermediate championship final  in Drumhowan. It was a team performance that created this victory. Undoubtedly, the best move of the game was started by an interception in the full back line by Michaela Newell. She passed to Ellen McCarron, who carried the ball up the field and after a return pass from Aisling Tierney, Ellen’s strike rattled the back of the Donaghamoyne net. Defensively, Aghabog had leaders in Michaela, Charlotte and Lisa, surrounded by the calming influences of Shannon, Siobhan and Orla. Goalkeeper, Niamh Connolly had to be alert on several occasions and coped with the danger confidently. The mid field pairing of Marion and Noleen worked tirelessly in both defensive and attacking play, covering a lot of ground throughout the game. Up front, Reggie and Flavia were instrumental in creating chances for the full forward line, ably assisted by Ellen, who received the ‘player of the match’ award and finished with a personal tally of 1-05. The full forward line of Aisling, Bridin and Laura tormented the Donaghamoyne back line, taking some fine scores. Congratulations to the team management of S. Gavan, D. McCarney and S.
