Scotstown

Seniors: The Seniors fell to their first defeat of the season away to Clontibret last Wednesday evening by 1-14 to 0-7. The Scotstown team and scorers were: Rory Beggan; Damian McArdle, Fergal McPhillips, Pauric Keenan; Emmet Caulfield, Ciaran Treanor, Donal Morgan; Peter O’Hara, Francis Caulfield; David McCague, Darren Hughes, Sean Mohan (0-1); James Hamill, Kieran Hughes (0-3), Shane Rice. Substitutes used: Ross McKenna, Paul Sherlock, Nicholas Corrigan (0-3). The Senior League game at home to Latton scheduled for Friday evening has been postponed due to Monaghan’s progress in the Ulster Championship. The next SFL game is set for July 14th away to the Harps, and Scotstown play Magheracloone in the Championship on July 28th.

Reserves: The B team were in action on Wednesday evening at home to Latton in Reserve League Division 1A. There will be a break before the next fixture in July.

Juniors: Our C team lost out to Oram in a Junior Football League game last Sunday by 2-13 to 1-10. Scotstown team and scorers: Cian Mohan; Adrian Carbin, Matthew McCague, David Caulfield; Ross McKenna, Damien McKenna, Niall Sherry; Michael McCarville, Declan McCarville (0-1); Paul Sherlock (0-1), Mark McKenna (1-1), Shane Rice (0-1); Nessan McCrudden, Chris McAleer, Mark McDevitt (0-6). Substitutes used: Barry McMeel, Emmet McCrudden, Damien F McKenna, Kevin McKenna. The Juniors are in Championship action (Round 1B) on Saturday evening when they play Éire Óg in St. Mellan’s Park, Truagh at 7pm.

Under 21: Scotstown are at home to Latton next Tuesday, June 25th with an 8pm throw-in time.

Minors: The next Minor club action will be in July. The county Minors play Cavan in the Ulster semi-final on June 29th.

Under 16: The game against Seán MacDermott’s which was set for Thursday has been postponed until July. There is an away League fixture set for next Thursday, June 27th away at Carrickmacross with a 7:30pm start. They play St. Patrick’s in the Championship on June 30th.

Under 14: The Division One team had a good win away at Emyvale on Friday night, while Emyvale conceded the Division Five game on Saturday. The Division One team play Monaghan Harps away on Saturday at 1:15pm. The Division Five team have no game until next month.

Under 12: The Under 12 teams travel to Latton on Saturday, June 29th  for a double-header against the home side.

Under 8 & Under 10: Go Games in Emyvale this Saturday morning at 10am. All players are asked to be in Emyvale for 9:45am.

Track: The track at Kilmore is now available for use by the general public. Please note that for insurance reasons, dogs and bicycles are not permitted to use the track – walkers and runners only please.

World Music Day: The local branch of Comhaltas will celebrate World Music Day this Saturday, June 22nd in the meeting room at the complex from 9pm on. Everybody welcome for an evening of music, song, dance and storytelling.

Development Draw: Ticket sellers are out in force for our Development Draw, with a car and other valuable prizes on offer. Tickets are priced at €20 each or three for €50. They are also available on the Scotstown GAA website, with Paypal/Credit Card payments accepted.

Ladies Senior and Minor: Training every Tuesday and Friday at 7.30pm sharp. Please be on time. If you are unable to attend training, it is important to contact team management.

Ladies U16: Training every Monday and Thursday night in Kilmore at 6.30pm. Please bring registration form and money to team management ASAP.

Ladies U14: Training every Monday and Thursday in Kilmore at 6.30pm. Please bring registration form and money to team management ASAP.

Ladies U12: Training continues every Tuesday at 6:15pm in Kilmore. Please return registration form and money to team management as soon as possible.  

Ladies Registration: Club registration is now overdue for 2013. Please give to team management or club registrar Martina Larmer. U18s – €35, over 18s – €50. If you are not registered you will be unable to train or play matches, registration is for one year, from May 2013 to May 2014.
