Inniskeen

May 14th, 2013

Thank You.

Inniskeen Countryfest 2013 has come and gone for another year, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who came down to the Marquee and supported our fundraising event.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped prepare the site, decorated it & provided the lighting, as I think you will all agree they done a great job.

Thank you to all who worked during the event, whether it be on the door, floor or behind the bar, the effort was huge from start to finish.

Thank you to the Lady’s on the BBQ stand, as usual you put in a top class shift keeping all the hungry punters happy over the weekend through all weather conditions.

Last but not least I would like to thank everyone who turned up for our new addition to the festival “Family Fun Monday”.

It was a great fun way to close off a wonderful weekend.

Thank you to all the families who took part in our charity football tournament “Clash of the Clans”.

Over 15 teams slugged it out over 4 pitches and eventually it came down to the final match between the McArdle (let by Captain Donal) and Woods clans.

In the end the Wood’s crew came out victorious and young Andrew lifted the cup on behalf of his family in the Marquee during the Traditional music Session.

All in all it was a huge success so once again thank you to all who came and supported, we hope to see you back next year for another memorable weekend.

Seniors (IFL)

Our senior’s showed great resilience over the weekend by winning away at Tyholland. We went behind by 2 early goals however the lads kept their composure and kept the scoreboard ticking over.

Ronan Meegan put in a top class shift by scoring 10 points, but overall it was a great team effort which seen us produce a solid performance to win by a score line of 3-04 to 0-17.

The win leaves us sitting in fourth place on 9 points, equal with Corduff. However we have a game on hand.

It’s been a good start to the league and the lads have coped remarkably well with the injuries they have had to sustain.

Next up a home match in Pairc Grattan against Currin, on Monday the 20th of May.

Please come out and support the lads.

Development Hurling league Semi final

The lads have reached the semi final of the league where they will play Truagh on Thursday 23rd of May at 7.30. Best of luck lads.

Please come out and support them as we go in search of our first piece of silverware of the year.

Schools Football

Congratulations to young Grattan’s Andrew, Christopher, Ciaran and Seamus who led by example and won the 1st year Ulster schools final for the Patrician High School in Carrickmacross.

The future of the Inniskeen Club is in safe hands for as long as we have this kind of quality coming through the ranks.

Well done lads.
