Monaghan Harps Handball Club has been awarded the Monaghan County Council Award for Sport in 2012.  This Award is in recognition of the achievements in Sport by Monaghan Harps Handball Club during 2012 which included the following:  World Championship Winner Eoghan Mc Ginnity, World Championship Runners Up Conor Mc Donnell and Jakob Szkup.  Eoghan Mc Ginnity won the National One Wall title and also won the Mount Talbot and Williamstown One Wall Competition.  Conor Mc Donnell won the Irish Nationals Golden Masters Singles title and was Runner up in the national One Wall Golden Masters competition and also won Ulster 60×30 Singles title..  Terry Mc Elvaney won Provincial Singles title. Ramunas Ramanauskas was runner up in the All-Ireland 60×30 final.  Terry Mc Elvaney and martin Mc Entee  won Ulster 40×20 Singles titles.  Members of the Club were Gold Medalists at national Community Games finals.  There were other County and Provincial titles.  Well done to all concerned, and a special word of mention must go to the dedication of Monaghan harps Coach Martin Mc Entee who has put in endless hours coaching the juveniles and ferrying them between tournaments.

The Awards ceremony will take place at the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan on Tuesday 4th June at 7pm
