U16 Hurling Development Squad Ulster Blitz April 2013

April 24th, 2013

Our U16 hurling development squad attended an Ulster blitz on Saturday last the 20th April in Tyrone’s fabulous training centre in Garvaghey. The lads played three matches against Cavan, Tyrone and Fermanagh. The weather had a huge influence on all three matches as there was a gale force breeze blowing the whole day. In the first game the boys started slowly and found themselves behind by two points at half time. But they regrouped and with points from Ronan Curran and two goals from Reece Treanor and Mark Murphy Monaghan ended up winning on a score line of 2-03 to 0-07.

In the second game they played against a bigger and stronger Tyrone team. Ronan Curran scored four points and Conor Mc Nally with the fifth point. Although the boys never gave up and fought hard Tyrone ended up winning on a score line of 2-07 to 0-05.

In the final game Cavan & Fermanagh joined up to play against Tyrone A and Monaghan played against Tyrone B. In an exciting game Monaghan won with a score line of 2-03 to 1-05. Ronan Curran and Cathal Power got the two goals with points coming from Mark Murphy (3), Aaron Gernon (1) and Emmet Campbell (1)
