Doohamlet GFC Notes

Seniors:   Doohamlet  0-08    Magheracloone   3-07

Doohamlet Seniors began their league campaign on Saturday evening last and although having as much possession of the ball mistakes at crucial times allowed our visitors in for goals and these proved to be the vital scores.  Doohamlet already missing a number of players were dealt another major blow on the eve of this game when news broke that Martin Hughes was hospitalised and unable to take his place at full back.  A much changed line up took the field and playing against a strong breeze in the first half were only a point down one minute before the break but Magheracloone pounced on a loose ball to score the first of their three goals and led at half time 1-04 to 0-03.  With the wind in the second half Doohamlet felt confident that they could get back into this game but another error led to a soft goal for Magheracloone and the home side were always chasing the game thereafter.

This was a harsh lesson for Doohamlet and lessons must be learned that mistakes will be punished at this level and hope that a number of injured players return soon.
