Anyone who has sold a direct-debit is asked to pass the details on to the Lotto committee as soon as possible, so they can be entered into our weekly draw straight away. The Monaghan Harps Lotto plays an integral role in the running of the club. If you want to volunteer to get involved in any way (e.g. selling tickets), please contact any committee member.

Charity match: Thanks to everyone who attended the presentation of the cheques from our recent charity match last Sunday night in the clubhouse. Despite tough times for fundraising, we still managed to raise the very healthy sum of €2,354. The proceeds were divided between the Co Monaghan Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society and the North Monaghan Cancer Treatment Support Group; two worthy causes that do great work in the community. Owen Connell of the organising committee and chairman Dermot Brannigan spoke for the club on the night, while the Alzheimer’s Society were represented by May Murphy and Marie Cassidy and Mary-Joe Earley thanked the club on behalf of the Cancer Treatment Support Group. Thanks again to everyone who took part in the match or contributed in any way.

Juvenile presentation: The juvenile presentation night for hurlers and footballers will take place this Saturday, February 9, in the clubhouse at 8pm, with special guests the Liam MacCarthy Cup and the National Hurling League trophy. Presentations will be made to the double-winning Under-14 hurlers and the Under-14 Division Five footballers, who reached the shield final. The hurlers are asked to wear their Féile gear. All welcome.

Arch Club: We are delighted to welcome Monaghan Arch Club to Gavan Duffy Park tonight (Thursday, February 7) from 8pm to 10pm. Please come along if you are available to help out for what is always an enjoyable night. Anyone who can help with food for tonight is asked to contact Liadhan Treanor at 086 7837204. Hugh Coyle has his speech prepared and there will also be music on the night from Brian Harvey and the Arch Club choir.
