AGM:

We held our AGM on Tuesday 8th February and although the attendance was poor it was still good to see new faces there. Maggie opened the meeting thanking everyone for their attendance. Ciara give her report pointing out that all combined efforts with the men’s club throughout the year had been successful. She thanked all the team managements for their time and effort all year and reflected on the efforts of all our competing teams. Paddy gave a comprehensive report on the club finances. Maggie continued with her address, she recalled all the fundraising efforts that were organised last year; she also expressed the club’s disappointment over the non completion of the Ronan Leonard blitz due to the weather and also the inability to secure another date for this. She congratulated the U/14 team and reaching the league final with such a young team. The U/16’s competed in the semi-final and the senior team reached the championship final. She commended the girls on their fundraising efforts coming up to the final. Our U/12 team had to enter the 13-a-side competition and this forced the club to play some very young players. She thanked the parents for their help all year. She acknowledged our county representatives, Ellen, Anita and Laura on the senior team and Katie and Caitlin who were part of the successful U/14 team who claimed their first Ulster championship in over 10 years. Congratulations were expressed to Sean Gavan who was part of the county U/14 management team. She mentioned the club’s links to the London Olympics and the night that was held for Kieran Behan. A card was also received from Kieran thanking the club for this night. The night organised to recognise Jenny and Declan was also recalled as a success. Finally, she thanked Ciara, all the team managements and the committee for their help throughout the year.
