Monaghan County Board Dinner Dance.

The Annual Monaghan GAA Awards night were held in the Hillgrove Hotel on Saturday night, 19th January. Currin figured in the honours list as Jack Mc Carron was the recipient of the young player of the year award. Congratulations to Jack on his well deserved award.

County Seniors

Monaghan progressed to the final of the Mc Kenna Cup with two wins over Down and Fermanagh in the past week. Both Dick and Stephen contributed handsomely to both these wins and we wish them well in the final against Tyrone, which will be played in Armagh on Saturday evening, throw in at 7.30 p.m.

Club Championship

The club championship draws were made on Monday night and ‘twitter’ brought the news as it happened. Well done @monaghangaa. Currin have drawn Drumhowan in the Intermediate championship. This will be a tough one but we look forward to the year ahead and the players and management are already preparing.

Michael Looney, R.I.P.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Michael Looney, brother of Margaret Smith, Corrineary, who died in Beaumont Hospital last week and was later interred in his native Millstreet, Co Cork.. Michael was often to be seen at Currin matches when he visited and had a keen interest in our clubs fortunes. Currin G.F.C. extend our sympathy to Margaret, John and all his extended family members. Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal.
