Annual Convention

Currin G.F.C. attended the annual general meeting of Monaghan G.A.A. last week. With neither elections to excite or significant motions to debate this was a fairly languorous affair, until the annual awards were announced and once again Currin were delighted to figure in the winners enclosure with Jack Mc Carron being awarded the young player of the year accolade.

Jack Mc Carron

A huge congratulations to Jack on winning the Young Player of the Year Award at Monaghans annual county convention. While Jack has great skill and ability it is his vision, decision making and score taking that has marked him down as a player for the future. Despite being hampered by injury early in the season, Jack forced his way onto the Monaghan senior panel for the championship qualifiers to join Dick and Stephen and give Currin three representatives at senior county level, a fantastic achievement for any club. Well done Jack.

Gum-shields

Dont forget that Gumshields will be mandatory for all juvenile players in both training and matches in the new year.

Monaghan GAA Year book

The official Monaghan GAA Review 2012 will be available next week. The proceeds from this excellent publication will ‘definitely’ go back to the ‘coffers’ of Monaghan GAA, unlike other past plagiarising profiteering periodicals!

Season Tickets

The GAA both nationally and at provincial level have some very atttractive packages for Mc Kenna Cup, N.F.L. and championship games for the coming season. Check out the relevant websites or even the local Super Value shop for details.
