B Team: The football season came to a conclusion on Sunday with a defeat for Scotstown in the Reserve League Division One Final against Castleblayney. Scotstown held the lead for most of the game, but two goals in the last seven minutes gave the Faughs the victory by 2-9 to 0-12. The Scotstown team and scorers were: Cian Mohan (0-3); Elliot Maguire, Ciaran Treanor, Barry McMeel; Ross McKenna (0-1), William Carroll, Emmet Caulfield; Paul Grant (0-3), Stephen Sherry; Shane Rice, James Hamill (0-1), Conor McCarthy (0-2); Mark Treanor (0-1), Orin Heaphey (0-1), Paul Sherlock. Substitute used: Sean Mohan.

JFL Final Replay: Thanks to all the club members who helped out on Sunday last at the Junior Football League Final replay.

Coaching Courses: There are a number of upcoming coaching courses being organised by Monaghan GAA. Venues are to be confirmed, but the dates are: Foundation – 30th November & 1st December. Level One Children – 2nd, 3rd & 10th November. Level One Youth/Adult – 16th, 17th, 23rd & 24th November. Ciste: The monthly Ciste draw took place last Saturday night in the Complex. The winners were: €700 Eugene McCarey, Drumdesco, €300 Brian Beggan, €100 Sean Clerkin, Mullaghdun, €100 Paddy Toal, Smithborough, €100 Fintan Treanor, Drumdart, €100 Heather Stirrat, Hollywood, €100 Eileen Morgan, Monaghan, €100 Brendan Connolly, Drumhillock. Sellers prizes: €30 Seamus McElwain, €30 Frankie McCarey. The next draw will take place on Saturday, November 24th.

Ciorcal Gaeilge: Conversational Irish continues at the Complex each Tuesday at 8:30pm. Beidh fáilte roimh gach éinne.

Condolences: Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of the recently deceased including Michael Guare, Gola Crest.

For Club and County: On Saturday, November 10th the play “For Club and County”, written and directed by former Leitrim footballer Seamus O’Rourke will be performed in the Complex at Scotstown. Tickets are €10 and will be available from any committee member or at the door on the night. Show starts at 8:30pm.

Handball Meeting: We held a handball meeting in the complex on Monday night last and we will be entering at least one team in the GAA League, and the new senior club county league which will both be commencing shortly. Also, we will be running our own club league the same as last year with teams of four taking part. We hope to have this league and the juvenile leagues up and running next week. Senior players will be notified of fixtures by the team captains.

Christmas Fair: Scotstown Ladies Football Club are holding a Christmas Fair on Sunday, November 25th in the Complex. There will be a variety of craft stands on display to help with your Christmas shopping. If anyone is interested in having a stand to sell their products at the Fair please contact Edel on 087-6133739 or any committee member.

Congratulations: Well done to all involved with the opening of the playground and upgraded sports court at Ballinode on bank holiday Monday.
