The presentation of the €8,950 cheque from the recent jackpot win was presented to Michelle McElvaney last Sunday night by ticket seller Paddy Donnelly and members of the Lotto committee. Congratulations to Michelle and we hope you enjoy your winnings. Congratulations also to Paddy and Rose Donnelly on their 30th wedding anniversary! We are selling lotto tickets in the shopping centre this Friday and all support is, as ever, appreciated. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5! Anyone who has sold a direct-debit is asked to get the details to the Lotto committee as soon as possible, so they can be entered into our weekly draw straight away.

AGM: The club’s Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday week, November 18, at 3pm. Nominations for positions on the club committee must be with Club Secretary Lorcan McAdam by Monday, November 15.

Juvenile AGM: The juvenile club’s AGM takes place this Thursday (November 8) in the clubhouse at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and get involved in whatever way they can.

Team management: Anyone interested in managing one of the club’s teams in 2013 are asked to forward their names to the football development committee. Expressions of interest in the senior should be made to Fergus Coyle at 086 8502015 before 8pm tonight (Thursday), while expressions of interest regarding all juvenile teams should be sent to Ciarán Mulligan (086 8411275).

Scór: Well done to all our young members who represented the club with distinction at Spraoi Scór in Threemilehouse on Friday week last. We had a great night’s entertainment and were very unfortunate not to have won a competition on the night with each of our performers achieving over 90% in their scoring, a sure sign of the emerging talent within our club. Those who participated were: Helen McCrystal (recitation & instrumental), Dervla Gallagher (solo singer & instrumental), Rossa Gilsenan (recitation, ballad & instrumental), Clara Morgan (Ballad), Laura Drum (Ballad), Aisling Gallagher (instrumental), Leah Reilly (Ballad & instrumental), Aisling O’Riordan (Ballad & instrumental), Luke Coyle (instrumental), Orla Corrigan (instrumental), Aisling Corrigan (instrumental), Grace McCleary (instrumental) and the Tráth na gCeist team of Lorcan O’Rourke, Shane McCabe, Conor McCrystal, Killian Conlon, Seán Conway and Killian McAdam. Thanks also to everyone involved in the preparations for this competition. Next up later this month is Scór na nÓg (for Under-17s).

Table Quiz: We will be hosting a fundraising table quiz on Friday, December 7. There will be a short meeting about this in the clubhouse this Sunday at 7.30pm. All help welcome.

Coaching Courses: Monaghan GAA have a number of coaching courses coming up in the winter months, including foundation level on November 30 & December 1 and Level One on November 16 & 17 or 23 & 24. Anyone interested in attending should contact juvenile secretary Val Forde at 087 9515175.
