Lotto . The Lotto draw for the week ending 22nd October saw the following numbers being drawn….. 11,19,27 and 28. The jackpot was not won and four players won €50 each in the Lucky Dip. The winners were Jean and Kate Dermody, Clonseady, Chris Hall, Broomfield, Ciaran Brennan, Corduff and Paul Matthews, Killark.

The Jackpot will be €6,400 next week.

Senior Team.   In the senior league Magheracloone have qualified for the final and will face county champions, Ballybay, on this Sunday, 28th October, in Inniskeen. The throw in is timed for 2.30. The team fought back in the last minutes of an exciting semi final to claim a place in Sunday’s final. Clontibret led throughout the game but two goals from the Magheracloone team means that the dream of silverware in 2012 is still alive.

Schools’ Finals.  Congratulations to the two schools from the parish that claimed victories in their finals on Saturday last.

In the Division Six Final (Five a Side), Ballynagearn recorded an exciting win over a strong Scotshouse outfit. Following a close encounter, the local school team, captained by Jonathan Donnelly, claimed the trophy for their school.

The winning team included Luke Donnelly, Shane Burns, Aaron Kierans, Ronan McKeown, John Duffy, Paul Wakely, Jonathan Donnelly and Conor Freeman.

Mullaghrafferty competed in the Division Four (Seven a Side) Final versus Deravoy.  The local school again proved to be the stronger on this occasion, winning by a score of  2-10 to 2-05. The team had a good start and led by five points at half time. This proved to be the final victory margin also and Liam Og Murray was presented with the trophy on behalf of his school.

The winning panel for the Mullaghrafferty was: Ryan Farrelly, Jack Doogan, Matthew Kieran, Liam Og Murray, Jordan Duffy, Ryan McNulty, Francis Lambe, Daniel Fox, Jack McNulty, Kyle Matthews, David McArdle.

Following the two victories, the teams were treated to a meal, courtesy of Magheracloone Football Club. These young players will form the backbone of the club in the next twenty years and will contribute to Magheracloone’s effort to remain as a senior club.

Ladies’ Club.  Congratulations to the ladies’ team on their victory in the Ulster semi final. This team deserves all support possible as they attempt to claim an Ulster title for the parish.

Coaching Courses.   Coaching courses at various levels will take place over the months of October and November and information on these can be got from the juvenile committee or from Paul O Connor at 086-8374827. If you want to be involved with a team in the club then you must complete the Foundation Course.

The first Foundation Course in football took place on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th October while another is scheduled for Friday 30th November and Sunday 1st December.

The Level One Coaching Courses will be held on the 2nd, 3rd and 10th November for coaching children while the youth course will be on the 16th, 17th and 23rd November.
